Not just art: a statement
I create black and white abstract drawings and paintings, sometimes adding a red element as a place to focus, like a clue or anchor. I’m not chasing perfection or audience approval. I make what I need to make, moving ideas from my head into reality. I believe art should make people uncomfortale and push for change. The world is buring and some of us are still sitting back. My art challenges that apathy.
The story so far
Rose Marimon (also working as Rosy Myart) is an Australian visual artist working exclusively in black and white. Her abstract work doesn’t obscure, it exposes. Through layered, often raw compositions, she confronts the tension and chaos that emerge from what society forgets, hides, or chooses not to see. With a background in graphic design and the lasting imprint from the 1980s, especially its music*, Marimon's visual language is shaped by sharp contrasts, fragmentation, and rhythm. Creative and personal detours continue to inform her process and direct her attention, building interruption and disruption directly into the work. The Rosy Myart Project is her ongoing body of work. It’s honest, sometimes uncomfortable, and uninterested in easy explanations.
